CCG

The catalyst for the formation of Cosaint Costa na Gaeltachta (CCG) was the threat of the development of a 1,000-acre coastal quarry in the vicinity of the Mine Head Lighthouse. For information about the proposed quarry, click here.

CCG is a small, voluntary, non-profit, community-based environmental organisation.

Members of the committee were elected at public meeting and consist of concerned and committed individuals who live in the area. The aim of the group is to preserve, protect and promote understanding of the natural and man-made heritage belonging to the coastline of An Sean Phobal. The members of CCG are anxious to protect the special An Sean Phobal coastal heritage. As part of doing this, we seek to improve understanding of the character of the community, of the area and of the remarkable historical treasures to be found in the area.

CCG is currently funded by local community fundraising activities.
